The IFS Standard is a certification recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) and has a global approach. The Standard is written in English, and is also translated in more than 20 languages including Spanish, French and Portuguese. Our auditors also have the language skills to do audits in these languages. This capability means that you can perform IFS audits not only in North America, but also Central and South America, as well as the Caribbean.
IFS has a risk-based approach, which offers every company choosing the IFS Standard the possibility of creating solutions that fit the processes of your company. We do this with competent auditors who have a strong knowledge of the food business. IFS auditors do not just make a checkmark on a list for each requirement. The IFS auditor checks the solution design, as well as the implementation of your solution. With our differentiated scoring system we give everyone the possibility of taking steps into continuous improvement processes. And if there are deviations which are not related to food safety or legal requirements, IFS gives every company 12-months to solve the problem, providing time to find fundamental and cost-effective solutions. In the long run it saves time and money.
Improvements in food safety are not the only benefit of IFS certification. Through preparation for the IFS audit, companies choosing IFS certification are able to review their processes and develop new methods resulting in more efficiency while also saving time and money. Better efficiency will significantly reduce customer complaints.
